Who This Is For: Anyone comparing hair transplant quotes in Bangalore who wants to understand what actually drives the price before they sign anything.
Hair-transplant prices in Bangalore vary widely because clinics may quote by graft, by hair, or as a package, and because graft count, technique, surgeon involvement, clinic setting, and included aftercare differ. Publicly listed estimates span roughly ₹45,000 to ₹3,00,000 depending on the source and what is bundled in, but published figures are not directly comparable with each other or with your own case. Ask for a written quote that states the number of follicular-unit grafts, the unit price, taxes, tests, medicines, follow-ups, and any PRP or revision costs. Prices checked September 2026; hair-transplant pricing changes often and should be reconfirmed directly with any clinic before you decide.
What Does a Hair Transplant Cost in Bangalore?
Public sources publish different ranges because they measure different things. Practo's Bangalore listing, checked September 2026, gives an overall range of roughly ₹45,000 to ₹1,65,000, with a separate estimate elsewhere on the same platform of ₹50,000 minimum, around ₹1,00,000 on average, and up to ₹2,65,000, working out to about ₹20 to ₹120 per graft. These are marketplace estimates aggregated from listed providers, not a controlled market survey, and Bangalore-specific clinic pricing can sit well outside them. Our own previously published Bangalore page quoted a considerably higher ₹100 to ₹500-plus per graft; we are correcting that here rather than repeating it, since it does not match the wider public data we could verify.
None of these numbers should be read as a single "Bangalore average." Treat every published range as a snapshot from one source, on one date, using one definition of what counts as included. The only number that matters for your decision is the one in a written quote that states its unit and its inclusions.
Graft Versus Hair: the Unit That Changes the Quote
A follicular unit, the thing most clinics call a "graft," naturally contains between one and four individual hairs. Some clinics price per graft. A smaller number price per hair. These are not the same unit, and a quote in one cannot be compared to a quote in the other without knowing the average hairs per graft for that patient, which varies by person.
Here is the arithmetic, for illustration only, using round numbers rather than any specific clinic's real quote. If a clinic quotes 2,000 grafts at ₹150 per graft, the surgical component is ₹3,00,000, before any excluded items. If another provider quotes what it calls 2,000 "hairs" at ₹120 per hair, the arithmetic works out to ₹2,40,000, but that figure cannot be compared to the first quote until the clinic states how many follicular units those hairs actually represent. If the average follicular unit contains two hairs, 2,000 hairs might represent roughly 1,000 grafts, a very different procedure size, but hair count per graft genuinely varies and should never be assumed.
Always ask a clinic directly: "Is this price per graft or per hair, and how many hairs does your average graft contain?" A clinic that cannot answer clearly is a clinic whose quote you cannot actually compare to anyone else's.
What Determines Graft Count and Cost
The size and pattern of the area you want covered matters first. A small frontal recession typically needs fewer grafts than a large combined front-and-crown area, and Norwood staging gives a rough communication framework, not a quote. Donor density and the safe donor zone matter just as much: a dense donor area may support more grafts, but the lifetime donor budget is finite, and overharvesting can leave visible depletion, scarring, or too little reserve for future loss. A quote promising a large graft number without any donor mapping is an incomplete quote.
Hair calibre, curl, and the contrast between hair and skin tone all affect how much visual coverage each graft provides, which shapes the aesthetic plan as much as the price. And the technique matters: FUT removes a strip and leaves a linear scar; FUE extracts individual follicular units and leaves multiple small extraction scars, not none; and DHI generally refers to implantation with an implanter pen after extraction, part of the placement workflow rather than a separate harvesting method. Choose a technique by anatomy and goals, not by whichever label carries the highest price.
FUE, FUT and DHI Cost Comparison
Practo's Bangalore breakdown, checked September 2026, illustrates how technique-specific ranges compare for a representative 2,000-graft case: FUT around ₹40,000 to ₹80,000, standard FUE around ₹75,000 to ₹1,50,000, and DHI around ₹2,00,000 to ₹3,00,000. Wider India-wide sources we checked put DHI closer to ₹40 to ₹120 per graft in many markets, roughly ₹10 to ₹30 more per graft than standard FUE, reflecting the Choi implanter workflow rather than a fundamentally different or superior procedure. The spread between these sources is itself the point: published technique pricing varies enormously by source, city, and what counts as "DHI" at that particular clinic.
| Technique | What It Involves | Typical Bangalore Scar | Where It Tends to Sit on Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| FUT (strip) | A strip of donor scalp is removed and dissected into grafts | One linear donor scar | Often the lower end of the published range |
| FUE | Individual follicular units are extracted one at a time | Many small, scattered extraction scars, not scarless | Commonly mid-range; varies by clinic |
| DHI / implanter-based placement | Grafts are placed with an implanter pen, an approach that can pair with FUE or other harvesting | Scarring reflects the underlying harvest method used | Often quoted at a premium for workflow and instrumentation, not a guaranteed better outcome |
A higher price for any of these does not by itself guarantee better survival, a more natural result, or a more experienced surgeon. Compare the actual surgical plan, not the technique label.
A Formula for Normalising a Quote
Use this two-step formula to make any two quotes genuinely comparable, once you know the unit each one is quoted in:
Procedure estimate = medically planned grafts × quoted price per graft
Total patient cost = procedure estimate + consultation + tests + anaesthesia/consumables + medicines + tax + travel/accommodation + postoperative care + any planned PRP or maintenance
A graft calculator can give you a rough starting figure, but it cannot replace an actual examination, and no calculator result should be treated as a final graft-count promise. Our own graft calculator is a starting point for that conversation, not the conversation itself.
What Should the Quote Include?
A quote may include or exclude consultation, blood tests, anaesthesia, medications, dressings, washing, follow-up visits, PRP, low-level light therapy, accommodation, transport, GST, or a correction if growth is poor. A bundled PRP package does not by itself make the surgical plan better, and it should never obscure the core surgical price you are actually comparing.
- Diagnosis and hair-loss pattern
- Planned graft count, and whether that means follicular units or hairs
- Price per graft or per hair, and the total surgical price
- FUE, FUT, DHI, BHT, or another technique, and why it was recommended for you
- Which surgeon performs each surgical step
- How donor density was measured and which zone will be used
- The hairline and density plan, including a plan for future native loss
- Tests, anaesthesia, medicines, dressings, and aftercare
- Follow-up duration and how to reach the clinic afterward
- PRP, maintenance, revision, and cancellation charges
- GST and the payment schedule
- Expected risks, alternatives, and what happens if growth is poor
Request this in writing from more than one clinic before deciding. It is also worth reading our full guide to transparent quote structures and the checklist for comparing two quotes side by side.
Surgeon Involvement and Facility
Ask who actually performs consultation, donor marking, extraction, recipient-site creation, graft handling, implantation, anaesthesia, and follow-up, and whether that is the surgeon in every case or a supervised team for some steps. Whether surgeon experience genuinely matters at that clinic is worth asking directly rather than assuming from a website photo. A higher price may reflect real surgeon time and an accredited facility, but price alone does not prove quality, and a low price alone is not proof of unsafe care either. The honest approach is to verify, not to assume either direction.
Red Flags in Pricing, Without the Fear-Mongering
Investigate further, calmly, when a provider refuses to state whether the price is per graft or per hair, changes the graft count after you have paid, promises an unlimited number of grafts, guarantees a fixed outcome, avoids discussing your future native hair loss, cannot tell you who the operating surgeon actually is, minimises the reality of donor depletion, calls FUE "scarless," or only shows before-and-after photos without comparable lighting, hair length, and follow-up timing. None of these alone proves fraud. Together, or even one clearly, is a reason to ask more questions before you commit. Our page on red flags in clinic selection goes further into this, and how to actually read before-and-after photos is worth reading before you trust any gallery.
Consumer-friendly questions get you further than accusations. Ask who the registered surgeon responsible for your operation is, which steps are performed by the surgeon versus assistants, what happens if the planned graft number cannot be safely harvested on the day, whether the quote is fixed or can change once you are in the chair, what is explicitly excluded, who provides urgent postoperative care if something goes wrong, and whether the photographs you are shown are consented, representative, and labelled with a real time frame.

Remember: This Is Surgery, Not Just a Purchase
A hair transplant is a surgical procedure, and price should never be the only factor in the decision. "Permanent" needs its own qualification too: transplanted follicles may be long-lasting in suitable cases, but that does not mean all your native hair stops thinning, or that one session guarantees the density you are picturing. Our procedure guide, side-effects guide, and healing and recovery guide cover what the surgery and its aftermath actually involve, beyond the price tag. If a previous transplant elsewhere did not go the way you hoped, why people need a corrective transplant explains the options, and finasteride after a transplant covers ongoing medical maintenance for the native hair a transplant does not touch.
Kibo Clinics' Perspective on Hair Transplant Cost
The cheapest quote and the most expensive quote can both be wrong for the same reason: neither tells you what you are actually paying for until the unit, the graft count, and the inclusions are stated in writing. We would rather you leave a consultation with a number you can genuinely compare than one that just sounds reassuring.
At Kibo Clinics, we believe a transparent quote is one you could hand to a second clinic and ask them to match, feature for feature, not just a number on its own.
If you want an actual assessment rather than another published range, a Kibo Clinics hair specialist can examine your scalp, explain your realistic graft range, and give you a written breakdown you can compare against anyone else's.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is ₹1 lakh enough for a hair transplant in Bangalore?
It may cover some smaller or lower-priced plans, but the answer depends on graft count, technique, surgeon, facility, taxes, and inclusions. A written assessment is needed.
Is hair-transplant cost based on grafts or hairs?
Either model is used. Ask the clinic to state the unit clearly. A follicular-unit graft can contain several hairs, so the two prices cannot be compared directly.
Does a higher price guarantee a better result?
No. Price can reflect surgeon time, facility, technique, and aftercare, but quality depends on diagnosis, planning, graft handling, surgical execution, and follow-up.
Does hair-transplant cost include PRP?
Sometimes, but not always. Ask whether PRP is medically indicated, how many sessions are included, and what the price is without it.
Can I negotiate the price?
You can ask for a transparent written breakdown, but do not trade away surgeon involvement, safety, donor planning, or follow-up solely for a discount.
